Hippo trip of a lifetime

"Despite starting with a downgrade from BA (not Expert Africa's fault, we asked for them because of their Worldtraveller Plus seats - big mistake it turns out - booking 10 months in advance cut no ice) this was a fantastic trip.
The main aim was to see hippos close up and personal and the Kaingo Camp hide provides that, as does the location. Leopard, Painted dogs, lion likes, leopard feeding in trees, lions, hyenas and leopards day and night..... were all a huge bonus for us. The whole experience exceeded our expectations and the promises made in the brochures.
Expert Africa were really helpful with the details (e.g. breaks at Pioneer Camp & Victoria Falls) and are currently engaging with BA over the outward downgrade refund."

"Again met as promised, always a good start, followed by an enjoyable and informative drive to the Camp.
A quick greet and we were off on the first of many trips, going to the Hippo hide immediately as requested - the main point of the whole exercise. After that the 4 days passed in a whirl of painter dogs, lions, leopards etc. interspersed with good food with brilliant guides.
A wonderful place to spend 4 days."

"We waked here from Kaingo which was itself a wonderful experience and again were greeted and sent almost immediately off to explore the new domain - more leopards, a lion kill, more painted dogs plus the by now usual elephants, antelope etc.
The Camp is sufficiently different to be with a stay there, as is the slightly more inland approach to the drives (though the Hippo Hide was not neglected)."

"This was a great way to finish off the trip, easing us out of the bush and, as promised, the entrance to the Falls was a stones throw from the exit from the hotel grounds.
The Falls themselves were great - we made two 2h visits and still didn't cover it all.
The hotel was just what we wanted with good food and no need to go anywhere else (we'd had enough driving) plus the odd antelope on the lawns."

A quick hot shower and we were set for what turned out to be an excellent evening meal. Breakfast the next day and off tot he airport.
A great way to take a break after long flights before going on to Luangwa."
