"Lovely room (no. 3), very good hosting and good food (though not as good as Duba).
Our guide, Luke, was a very nice man, but not top notch - we were sorry we didn't get Dook or O.D. The best sightings of all 3 camps we visited."

DumaTau Camp
"DumaTau Camp review"

"What a stunning setting. The room was wonderful and delightfully different. We had an excellent guide called Godfrey who was on loan from Kalahari Plains, as they were short staffed.
The terrific diversity of things to do, outweighed the low diversity of game. No Tau for starters!! A name change may soon be necessary!! That said we saw 2 packs of wild dog at war.. probably one of the most shockingly disturbing spectacle we have ever witnessed. Every guest from all the landrovers wanted to go back to camp afterwards minus sunset drinks - which tells you a lot. Despite being a bigger camp, it is not surprising that they were full."

Tongabezi
"Tongabezi review"
3 nights

"What a great place!! We had the Nut House which was sublime.
That said, it is the furtherest from the lodge including a good number of slightly unstable stairs (not illuminated during the power outages) so wouldn't suit everyone. We looked at all the Houses - and without exception they were out of this world. The food was tasty and sometimes innovative.
One of their new managers is Marc Harris who was at Ras Kutani when we were there a few years ago. He is excellent and will be an asset to Tongabezi. The staff is willing and in most instances very good - but there were hit and miss moments.. but then the location of the kitchen hinders speedy service..
We thought their Livingstone High Tea was exhorbitant for what it was.. Three nights is probably enough here.."

The problem they have now is, that the buffalo have moved on.... and consequently there is no Duba.. The lion are in short supply because of pride feuding and lack of buffalo.
I can see this is going to be a big problem for this camp.. viewing masses of Lechwe, Tsetsebe, Warthog and the odd elephant is not going to do it for most people.
Consequently, though we loved our time there, it is just as well it was our first camp.
With the absence of real game (and the Duba) it is with regret that I wouldn't recommend this camp."
