A long trip
Namibia and 1 other country between 24 Aug 2007 and 3 Oct 2007
"Overall we had a good trip. The flowers in South Africa were amazing and a very good year to see them, one of the best for many years. There were plenty of whales in Hermanus and the sea was calm. The weather was good in South Africa so all the flowers were open. The accommodation with exception of Springbok was excellent.
The scenery in Namibia is outstanding and quite a lot of the lodges we stayed in are very special and memorable. There was a lot of driving but we coped with that. The government rest camps need to be better run but they are in excellent locations.
Zebra River Lodge was an absolute disaster, both in location and the trip to Sossousvlei but I hope you will take some action on this and return the money for the trip.
We had a great disappointment with Turnstone in Walvis Bay and feel this should be some recompense here too.
I am not sure what happened at the Olive Grove but if we did pay I hope you will refund the 450 dollars.
All the hotels were expecting us and it is very obvious that Expert Africa is very highly thought of and respected, especially in Namibia.
Overall we were treated very well in both countries.
It has been a very memorable trip and will take some time to consolidate."

Coast and Sandwich Harbour
"We did not get there"
20 Sep 2007 • All-day excursion
We did not get to Sandwich Harbour because the sea was too rough. We did not realise this was a possibility when we booked the trip. The guide book, your brochure, the leaflet and Clare's letter do not mention this as a possibility. The guide book goes to great length to say this is the only company to get the Sandwich Harbour.
If you pick up a leaflet in Swakopmund or Walvis Bay it quite clearly states weather permitting so I feel we were mislead and let down here. We are both keen bird watchers so it was a great disappointment not to reach the harbour. The trip was curtailed at the dunes. Ernst the guide was excellent but we did not get what we paid for and it is an expensive trip not to get this. I feel the trip should be cancelled completely if they cannot reach the harbour that day.
Both trips which should have been highlights of the holiday did not work at all. I feel this needs investigating and action taken.
