An awesoem trip full of great experiences
Tanzania between 19 Sep 2015 and 3 Oct 2015
"Liz did a great job at listening to our requirements and preferences and pairing us with the camps delivering most of what we wanted.
She was also quick to react to and compensate the one minor hiccup along the way."

Jongomero Camp
"Great location, nice camp and staff"
2 nights
Arrived

"Jongomero is well located away from other camps and enjoys some quiet isolation. It's (dry) riverside location assures an ongoing parade of various animals as they use the open area of the riverbed.
The camps straddles the line between elegance, luxury and rustic quite well, but it all depends on the perspective. For the more adventurous there is fly camping, which in our opinion and experience was the best part of being there! Best to do at least 2 nights in the fly camp for the best experience.
The couple managing the place, Chris and Sam are very nice, friendly and easy going. The walks we did in conjunction with fly camping were pleasant and informative, covering a nice variety of terrain. One of the highlights for us was our assigned guide for the duration of our stay, Theo who drove us on all game drives. He is a great guy, friendly and knowledgeable, a good judge of character able to relate to his guests in a way most suitable to their personalities and preferences."

Jongomero Walking Safaris
"The best part of staying at Jongo!"

"My comments already included in the review of the Jongomero camp. Fly camping was great, walks nice.
If I have any complaint at all is the "luxury" brought to the fly camp... while nice to have a 3 course dinner in the middle of the wilderness I think I would have appreciated cooking my food by the camp fire just a bit more."

"Luxury without pretense"

"Beautiful place and extremely well run. The manager couple Phil and Trish do an admirable job being open and friendly while maintaining the professionalism and diplomacy required in a place commanding this price. The attention to detail and their aim to deliver a highly consistent high level experience is bordering on obsessive.
The food is great, on par with some of the better restaurants in any city and certainly served in quantities which at least we found impossible to completely consume.
Wildlife sightings in and around the camp are great and the hippo pool is not to be missed!
Guiding is at levels meeting expectations for a place of this caliber, but the highlights for us were the walks. I was initially concerned about the level of luxury taking away from the overall experience, but this turned out to be an unfounded worry and we enjoyed our 5 days there very much!"

This is definitely a place for people who want to feel completely connected to the bush and it's inhabitants and not for luxury seekers. Although they do an admirable job at providing the creature comforts, (in fact I don't even know how they manage to pull it off so well!), it is ultimately a rustic, simple camp to experience nature rather than simply viewing it. It was by far our favorite destination between the 3 camps we visited although both others were considerably more upmarket.
The food and service were great, the intimate setting and time spent with our hosts very special and made it difficult to say goodbye. Ideal for adventurous and open minded people.
Kitchaka is all bout walking and there are simply none better to do that with than with Moli.
My ratings below reflect the grades based on expectations, and not in absolute terms."
