Brilliant Zimbabwe Trip
Zimbabwe between 11 Nov 2018 and 22 Nov 2018
"Could not have been much better.
As regular safari travellers we accept not everything will go exactly as planned and you certainly can't guarantee what wildlife you will see but what you hope for is an overall experience that makes you think, yes that was a great holiday, and that is what we got.
Everyone from Imvelo Safaris that we encountered was a credit to the company and Zimbabwe is certainly a safari destination we can strongly recommend.
Expert Africa were again efficient and will be our first point of call for our next safari, thank you."

Nehimba Lodge
"Fantastic Nehimba"
3 nights
Arrived
13 Nov 2018
"Having done many safaris in the past, Nehimba is right up there as one of the best. We like and prefer tented accommodation when we safari so might not be for everyone but these are very comfortable tents, raised on stilts and positioned around a waterhole. Everything you need for a very comfortable safari experience.
If you like Elephants then look no further, certainly at this time of year, although they can be quite noisy through the night but isn’t that the sort of thing you want to hear when on safari! While eating dinner we could practically reach out and touch them (but don’t!) as they come down to drink the small plunge pool dry.
And perhaps the main reason for our having such a great time were the staff. Our thanks to Amy for being an excellent camp manager, along with her husband Thys, making sure we had everything we needed. We felt like we were offered a very personal service such as being asked at what time we would like our evening meal, as well as the dining being with your guide and his group (which in our case was only the 2 of us).
We have to give a very special thank you to Mike, our guide, for just being a new friend on our holiday. An excellent level of knowledge, very persistent and a pleasure to be with. We know he was glad to be out of the office from his other role as Assistant Camp Manager!"

Bomani Tented Lodge
"Bomani Review"
3 nights
Arrived
16 Nov 2018
"Bomani is a comfortable tented Lodge although perhaps for us not at quite the same sort of level as our previous experience at Nehimba, but it is nonetheless a very good lower cost option. Staff are friendly, accommodation comfortable and food plentiful. It is worth mentioning that we understand staff employed here are nearly all from the local area which we feel must be a great help to the local communities.
The simple breakfast taken around the campfire was a nice touch. In the evening everyone in camp dined at the same time around one large table, which works well at smaller camps, however here, we would have preferred dining to be in smaller groups as at our previous camp. We would just mention that on an odd occasion the choice of meals was a little strange for us. For example on the day of leaving we were to have 'breakfast' at 10:00 but this turned out to be a lunch of Chicken casserole pie, vegetables etc and while very nice it was perhaps a little early in the day for us to eat this sort of meal, even on safari. Personally a brunch more geared towards the bacon and egg type would be our choice but that is perhaps personal preference.
The main lodge part has comfortable seating areas with a small plunge pool to the side overlooking the waterhole.
Our guide Phets was very good and very persistent in trying to track down good wildlife sightings, particularly lion which we found on a kill. Also he arranged a bush walk for us with Sibs the Head Guide which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall we had an excellent stay and even when some cheeky baboon (or monkey) managed to get into our room staff quickly sorted out the mess made. All part of the safari experience!"

Little Gorges Tented Lodge (Not currently featured by Expert Africa)
"More spectacular views from Gorges"
2 nights
Arrived
19 Nov 2018
"Following on from our 1 night stay at the start of our safari we returned for another 2 nights at the end. When we returned we found we were the only guests for the first night in either Gorges or Little Gorges and were offered a lovely room at Main Gorges. As we had chosen a tented option, we stuck with our original choice in Little Gorges but we can certainly recommend the rooms in Main Gorges, they are very well appointed (and in hindsight would have been cooler than the tented option) with spectacular views down onto the river below.
Unfortunately one of us was unwell on our last full day and so we did not take advantage of the activities offered with the all inclusive option which would have included our own driver to take us to The Falls, Croc Park, Snake Park, lunch at a local restaurant and a sunset cruise.
We cannot thank the staff enough who were very attentive during our couple of days at Gorges and the next time we are travelling through Victoria Falls we know we need look no further than Gorges Lodge."

Chris and Debs the Lodge Managers make sure everything runs smoothly but we have to say a big thank you to all the staff who are so friendly with special mention to both Pepsi and Beatrice.
Little Gorges, along with Main Gorges Lodge is somewhere we would definitely return to and next time we are travelling through Victoria Falls we don’t need to look at anywhere else to stay."
