My Nov 2014 trip
Kenya between 23 Nov 2014 and 6 Dec 2014
I was first attracted to the EA web site by the concrete, hands-on reviews. Richard patiently answered our questions and dealt with our changing plans as we coordinated with friends working in Kenya. Once in country all our reservations, transfers and stays went smoothly except for one minor payment problem. The camps we visited were accurately rated and described on the EA site.
Although we arranged the Zanzibar portion of our trip on our own, James D. gave us good advice on our options there."

Rekero
"Rekero review"
Our guide Dan was very personable, knowledgeable and diligent in scouting out wildlife. The river-side location really makes the camp special with lots of activity in the river (crocs, hippos) and animals traveling to and from the river.
Our village visit with Dan was great, giving us a little glimpse outside of the tourist bubble into rural life.
The meals were excellent as long as you temper your expectations with the knowledged that you are in a remote camp. All service was courteous but relaxed and friendly. Overall highly recommended."

Naboisho Camp
"Naboisho Camp review"
Our drives with our guide Wilson were always interesting, he seemed to know just where the animals would be. He could look into a thicket and spot something that we would have to pull out our binoculars to see. The night drives allowed us to see active nocturnal animals such as bush babies. We were glad for the warmth of the blankets and hot water bottles. But combined with the early morning walks the night drives could make for a long day.
The village visit with Wilson (who is from the area) was great and allowed at least some insight into the lives of the rural Maasi.
Overall the camp staff was great (even those behind the scenes that we never met) and made for a wonderfully comfortable and relaxed stay. Sometimes they even anticipated special needs that we hadn't mentioned.
The camp's location was great with lions and elephants within walking distance.
Overall we had a perfect stay."
What little we saw was great. Close to the international airport. Competent and courteous staff. Nice quiet room. We even managed to grab some breakfast from the buffet as they were setting it up before 5 am."
