Kakuli Bushcamp
"Kakuli was the best part of our holiday"
2 nights
Arrived
24 Jul 2007
"It was a beautiful drive from Kapani to Kakuli Bushcamp and we were driven by Rosy the only female guide (what an achievement).
We loved Kakuli, we were in a basic tent but we had the luxury of a bed and our own bathroom. open to the sky (great fun). We enjoyed our stay here the most out of our three stops. We loved the fact that you felt more a part of the bush ,we were alongside water at each camp, here we were were amazed at the numbers of hippo's and could watch the monkeys on the far side of the water as well as many birds. I did not realise were would see so many beautiful birds. We also had a fantastic early morning wake up one day by the lions talking to each other as they paced back and forth right past our tent.
The staff welcomed us and after leaving us to settle in had lunch with us, even though it was just us at the camp for lunch what a spread, it was wonderful. We were soon relaxed and enjoyed every minute and loved gathering around the camp fire for breakfast. Our guide Lawrence was quite a character he obviously lived for the bush and made us feel very welcome and taught us so much.
I was very aprehensive about doing a walking safari but thoroughly enjoyed it, looking out for tracks and learning so much about the animals diets etc.
We walked from here to Mchenja Bushcamp."

Mchenja Bushcamp
"Mchenja was luxury in a tent"
3 nights
Arrived
26 Jul 2007
"We walked to Mchenja from Kakuli and arrived to meet the other guests just returning from their walking safari. We were given a much needed cold flannel and nice cold drink and just had time to freshen up in our very luxurious tent before lunch.
Our tent even had a bath in it and our bathroom was open to the sky and shared with many tiny frogs which was great fun we found one sitting on the handle of the toilet.
The food was wonderful and the company very friendly. The staff joined us for meals and we enjoyed chatting about our experiences and hearing about everyones day and what they had seen. Our guide Levy was very experienced and we were thrilled that whilst walking we were able to get very close to a giraffe."

Royal Livingstone Hotel
"A wonderful setting and so near the falls"
2 nights
Arrived
29 Jul 2007
"The Royal Livingston was in a wonderful setting and only a short walk the to fabulous falls. It was a lovely finish to our holiday although I missed the bush. The Hotel was beautifully done and the rooms very nice.
The lay out of the fruits, cereal and meats etc at breakfast was a feast to the eyes, an amazing display. We were disapointed with the quality of the evening meals after being so spoilt at the camps."

Kapani Lodge is run extremely well , from the warm friendly welcome to leaving we had a fantastic time. The Lodge is very comfortable and very suitable for people who want to still have home comforts and would make and ideal start to a honeymoon. We had the fantastic experience of laying in bed watching several elephants feeding off the trees outside our window.
The staff were very friendly and attentive amd our guide James was a mindfield of information. We enjoyed having his company at mealtimes he made us feel very welcome and we chatted about our drives and learnt about life in Zambia.
The stops to take in the beautiful breathtaking sunsets and to see the bush after dark is a totally different experience than daytime drives. Although I enjoyed the night drives they were very tiring and could have been a little shorter."
