"Passed it on way down to Siesreim and sandunes from BullSport. Got there on return north about 3 pm and went for walk Food in evening good. Next day a waste of time. Small artificial waterhole out back attracted springbok and birds early which was nice. Breakfast disappointing. Second day a waste of time. One short walk up to a viewpoint but nothing much to see. Went to another waterhole along tracks. No game, a few birds some sociable weavers and a falcon.
It would have been better to stay extra day at Bullsport and done another walk and just used Weltered as an overnight stop to Swakopmund. Swimming pool appalling, no way anyone would want to take a dip."

We were sorry that this traveller had a disappointing stay at Weltevrede. They obviously felt that there weren’t enough activities on site to make their stay worthwhile, and was disappointed with the standard of the swimming pool. Generally, we recommend Weltevrede as a small and homely farmstead, offering some low-key activities on the farm itself. However, usually we advise that the main reason for a stay here it to visit the dunes at Sossusvlei and to explore Sesriem Canyon. This traveller opted to visit the dunes en route to Weltevrede, so had already experienced the areas highlight. We are sorry if we didn’t explain how best to explore the region in the time he had here.

"Only there one night on way to airport. Breakfast good staff friendly. Ideally close to Joes Beerhouse so no taxi needed to go or return.
Staff quite sweet in that they worried I might get mugged. Been in a lot rougher towns."

Trip in jeep on high plateau followed by Quiver Tree Gorge walk excellent. Driver/guide amazing sight, could spot game long before anybody else. We usually only saw them when they moved.
