My Jul 2014 trip
Zambia between 29 Jul 2014 and 12 Aug 2014
"We love our trip. We had amazing wildlife experiences and sightings with highly qualified guides, especially with big cats.
The Zambian parks and nevertheless still suffering from the poaching of the 80's, with average to low density of animals. The greatest advantage is the low level of tourism, allowing great experiences and privacy.
The camps are perfect, small and well adapted to the environment.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
Continue the good work. Expert Africa offered perfect service, would recommend them to anyone wanting to go to Africa and would definitely request new service for a future trip to Kenya and Tanzania!"

Kaingo Camp
"Kaingo Camp review"
4 nights

"Kaingo camp is just perfect, even though if the accommodation is fairly basic. Beautiful setting, great services, great guides.
We had amazing opportunities of wildlife, especially with leopards and lions, witnessing two impalas' kills. A main advantage is the very few tourists in the area, allowing very private experiences.
Great organization of rides (early rides followed by breakfast and afternoon rides finishing with night rides)"

"Tena Tena is the main disappointment of the trip. Overly rated. Poor situation. Average service. Worst park of the park.
The best part was when our request to be transferred to Nsefu for our last night was accomodated. Nsefu is a beautiful lodge, with an amazing setting and a great team. Old fashioned lodge in Rondavel. Highly recommended"

Feedback response
We are sorry to hear that these travellers did not enjoy Tena Tena, which came as a surprise as we usually get consistently good feedback on the camp. These comments were forwarded to Robin Pope Safaris’ MD Ton de Rooy, who responded with a sincere apology. We are told that there have been some service issues relating to the current hostess, which they are addressing with her. We are in no doubt that this will be rectified, as this isn’t the usual standard of service from Robin Pope Safaris. We are delighted that after these travellers moved camp to Nsefu (which they loved), they found all the Robin Pope staff very accommodating and enjoyed the rest of their trip. They also commented specifically that their walking guide, Kanga, was excellent.

"Definitely a highlight of our Zambia experience. Perfect organization, camp, facilities and food. The most important, the guide and security, was just perfect. The real African experience.
We did only one night but would recommend at least two to three nights. Everything is done to adapt to the customer needs and wishes
Robin pope is a Fantastic customer orientated company, highly recommendable despite of Tena Tena experience."

The activities proposed are varied and welll executed, in particular the boat rides up to the safari ride close to Sausage tree camp, the boat rides to Mona Pools and the canoe rides.
Regarding the Lower Zambezi National Park, unfortunately, the density of animals is disappointing, partly compensated by a beautiful scenery and settings. A recommendation would be to try to combine access to Mona Pools on the Zimbabwe side and the concentrate the safari ride the further away from the entrance"
