The only problem we encountered was with the transfers. When we left the car in Katima the transfer peop0le had no record of us and we were delayed by about an hour. the transfer, once it happened, was seamless, but it did cause us some worries as we sat in a café with mountains of luggage. Similarly no one turned up for our transfer to the airport when we were at Victoria Falls. We eventually loaded our luggage onto the last minibus going in that direction and sat5 down so they agreed to take us. I think it was an easier option than trying to move a rather stressed middle aged English couple!
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
Sort out the transfers"

Elegant Guesthouse
"Lovely"

Hoodia Desert Lodge
"Brilliant"
The trip to Sossulvlei was outstanding (I never thought I'd get to the top of the dune but was so pleased that I did!) and finished off with a veritable banquet with sparkling wine set amongst the dunes. We were made to feel very special. The host was very attentive and spoke to us each night we were there to check that things were OK."

Cornerstone Guesthouse
"Lovely"
They gave us an early breakfast in order for us to go sea kayaking and recommended and booked restaurants for us for our evening meals. Wi Fi was also a boon."

Camp Kipwe
"Wow! What a place!"
The sundowner terrace was beautiful and the food and drink we were served made it very special. We did a morning game drive and the visit to the rock carvings in the afternoon and both were very worthwhile. Tafi the gui9de was especially knowledgeable about the animals and the area."

Okaukuejo Camp
"Okaukuejo Camp review"
However the check in took a long time and the assistant not terribly helpful. The cabin was comfortable and the problem with lights was sorted out soon after we pointed it out. We were also impressed by the privacy we were afforded in spite of the size of the camp.
However the food was poor. The selection mediocre and they were constantly running out of things. When I asked whether more bread was coming out I was asked 'Why, do you want some'. Many staff standing around chatting and no sense of personal service or pride in their job that we had experienced everywhere else that we stayed.
The game drive we went on was OK but merely took us to a nearby waterhole and was really rather disappointing. We know that there are no guarantees with wild animals but felt that he could have shown more enthusiasm and we weren't even given water despite being out for 3 hours."

Mushara Outpost
"Fantastic"
We didn't do any activities here and although tempted by the swimming pool we saw mosquito larvae and it wasn't as clean as we might have liked. Otherwise though it was a perfect place to stay and sitting around the fire in the evenings and watching the stars was lovely."

Hakusembe River Lodge
"Lovely outlook over Angola"
The room was lovely but the room where we had our meal lacked any ambience and the food was not very inspiring. We were also disappointed that we were charged for coffee after our meal and that some of the liqueurs offered on the drinks menu were not actually available.
The swimming pool was not useable."

Ndhovu Safari Lodge
"Ndhovu Safari Lodge review"
On the following evening we packed everything into the car apart from one small bag with our clothes and toiletries for the next morning. Again we were woken up and the following morning found that they had eaten their way through the bag, shredded so paper inside it and destroyed a sewing kit. we did mention it to the owners whose response was 'Its never happened before'. We know that we will come across wildlife of all sizes on such a holiday but were surprised to be sharing our tent.
The sunset cruise was lovely and Michael, the guide, knew a lot, especially about the birds. The following day he took us to his village to meet his family. This was wonderful - although very humbling - and he also arranged for us to meet one of the teachers (we are teachers ourselves) and we spent more than 30 minutes with him learning about the Namibian education system. I will never again complain about a lack of board markers!!"

Lianshulu Lodge
"Another lovely river setting"
Another concern was the power which was not enough to drive a hairdryer or charge any electrical item. We therefore had to bring them to the main reception area where there was a 'charging' room. The safe also did not work.
We visited Liazula village nearby which we had read about in the Bradt guide but this was not pushed by the manageress and she seemed surprised that we enjoyed our visit so much. All in all though we had a lovely time here.
You gave us a warning about the state of the roads towards the Lodge. these have recently been 'tarred' and are now excellent"

Avani Victoria Falls
"Royal Livingstone - wonderful"
The only downside was the cost of drinks and meals which were more than they would have been. It was a wonderful place to stay."
It was just an 'overnighter' to allow us to recover from our journey but we found it to be very well appointed and the manager Matilda to be extremely helpful"
