I am well aware that I do not suffer fools gladly and it is a chance one has to take on this type of holiday; the camp staff were very understanding and accommodated us to the best of their abilities.
I will ask you to suggest another holiday for us next year with a few stipulations: luxury, great guides, near a river (we like the option of boat trips for birdwatching) and NO COMMUNAL DINING. Many thanks for a memorable trip."
Feedback response
We are delighted that these travellers enjoyed their safari and we look forward to planning the next one. Had we realised their aversion to communal dining prior to their trip we would have planned accordingly, by either requesting in advance for private dining at these camps or by suggesting places that do not have communal dining at all. We certainly know for their next trip.
As with all the traveller feedback we have on the website, the views expressed here are those of our travellers based on their own personal experiences.
Chinzombo
"excellent until appalling american arrived!"
Chiawa Camp
"lived up to expectations"
The staff were dying to serve the meal and go to bed but "Rayleen" went on and on and on.....In the end my husband and I just left the table and abandoned the meal,. The second niggle was that we were told the evening meal was at 8, approx. One couple did not return until 8.45 and the rest of us had to wait. This is unacceptable, far too late to eat and get up at 5.30 in the morning , one did that at university, but not now!
To be fair once we had told the camp .manager of this they accommodated us, no problem, I do not want to give the impression that we wanted exclusivity, we are perfectly happy to dine at a reasonable time with the guides and/or the staff but some of our fellow travellers have an intellectual capacity below that of the animals we are observing, we have to accept their presence on the game drives but dining with them as well is purgatory!"
Royal Livingstone Hotel
"royal livingstone"
Food is not as good as it used to be last time we were there. The suite was brilliant, we were so grateful for it especially when I was ill."
