"We had a lovely time at little Kulala - it's a beautiful location with great staff. It was a pity it was too cold and windy to use the outdoor spaces as much as we would have liked - the terrace and roof area of the tent were very attractive places to sit.
I was a bit confused by the room to room massage service - it was unclear if it was included in the price and the lady taking bookings behaved quite strangely when I said I didn't want to book one (looked at me as if I was crazy and then started explaining what it was all over again - all I had said was "no thank you" which shouldn't have been too hard to understand....).
The highlight of the activities was driving through and climbing up the red sand dunes, and the quad biking was also fun."

"I wish there was a category better than excellent for this! It was wonderful and definitely the highlight of our trip. We stayed in three gorgeous and very different locations, which we had all to ourselves as they only take one group at a time.
The trip began with a low flight over the red sand dunes we had been walking in the previous day and we were awed by the size and beauty of the dune sea, which you can't properly appreciate from the ground. Several times throughout the trip we flew low over the coast, seeing the shipwrecks and hearing their stories from Bertus; startling flocks of flamingoes into flight; and passing great colonies of seals. On the ground, we walked on the beach and climbed the hills to see ancient bushmen rock paintings; and drove up and down the dunes, seeing the sand whip upwards along their surfaces in the wind.
Bertus is a knowledgable and considerate host; his explanation of the unique geology we were seeing was extremely interesting. He is also an amazing pilot; I'm normally a bit scared of flying but he made me feel safe. We felt privileged to have had this unusual and very special experience."

"The highlight of this stay for us was the kind attention given to us for our wedding anniversary. We had a lovely surprise in our room before dinner with champagne, candles and snacks left for us; and for dinner we had our own table over by the pool surrounded by lanterns.
The boma dinner on the first night was also very good; we all went out to the boma (aka old cattle pen made of tree branches stuck vertically in the ground) - it was beautifully decorated with lanterns and we ate under the stars.
The drives to see wildlife were long (there are comparatively few animals round here) but rewarding - due to the effort and talent of our guide we got good views of elephants and black rhino - and the landscape is spectacular."

The only thing which would have improved our stay even further would have been an outdoor light at the balcony for our room so we could have used it after dark."
