Some gliches. Lots of traffic from Zanzibar because of arriving evening last day of Ramadan. Luggage broken into and things stolen from luggage at Nairobi airport. No museum visit at Olduvai gorge and no lunch provided last day of safai as outlined in itinerary. Lots of flight delays. Last Masai village visit we felt extorted for the suggested donation of $200.
However, this was the best trip we have ever taken and we travel extensively. Thanks again to the staff of expert Africa for matching us up once again with a like minded couple whose company we enjoyed and for providing a TRIP WHOSE WONDERFUL MEMORIES WILL LAST ALL OUR LIVES. We hope to do a 3rd trip with your company."

Princess Salme Spice Tour
"Anjam Hassan is the guide you want!"
9 Oct 2014 • All-day excursion
We did have a slight issue with Fishman tours office as they insisted we had not pre paid. When our driver brought me to the office, a woman there showed me the body of an e-mail from Expert Africa asking for payment. The e-mail did not show a client name or reference #. When I asked to see both she reluctantly showed me the client name and # which was a different party entirely. I pointed this out and we were on our way. We not only enjoyed the tour but the included lunch was outstanding as well. We truly enjoyed the experience.
Pongwe Beach Hotel
"Ponwe Beach is Paradise found"
The staff and food were perfect as well as the atmosphere in the bar (great music). This hotel experience alone is worth a trip to Zanzibar. The infinity pool was enjoyed daily as wee as walks in the ocean at low tide. The statfish became true stars as we photographed the many different types we saw while wading in the water. Starfish that looked like gingerbread with icing and navy blue sarfish and all the colorful sea urchins truly amazed us.
We also took a walk to the village when the tide was out. The local people were very friendly to us."
The Arusha Hotel (Not currently featured by Expert Africa)
"Aruha Hotel good laction"
The doorman tried to discourage us from walking to the Masai Market without an escort form the hotel, telling us that we would not be safe. It was 1pm and it was a short walk and the Bradt guide recommended it , so we walked over ourselves anyway. We enjoyed ourselves and I bought many items. The vendors were very anxious to sell as mentioned in the guide and very persistent , but polite."

Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge
"Tarangire small park but big on game"
Kirurumu Manyara Lodge
"Kirurumu Manyara Lodge review"
We felt that the masai guide was too hard sell on his book he had co written. He even posed on a rock for pictures while holding his book we he presigned and practically forced us to buy for $25."
Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
"Hard to leave the Lodge its too nice!"
Top notch except for boxed breakfast packs which were terrible. Chips and a candy bar in a breakfast pack? Really?"
Kirurumu Serengeti Camp (Not currently featured by Expert Africa)
"Kirukumu Camp not to be missed"
Great bedding too. One drawback. If you are short like me the shower handle can't be reached. A step stoll would be helpful."

We loved the zanzibari bed and the Persian bath. The rooftop terrace was a delight for sunset viewing We had the terrace all to ourselves. We also enjoyed having the balcony overlooking the pool and the breakfast provided was more than adequate."
