Wonderful honeymoon in Botswana
Botswana between 23 Aug 2008 and 4 Sep 2008
"Expert Africa service has been excellent (as we've experienced in the past). Our trip was as good as it could have been and we thanks you for all your efforts."

Kaza Safari Lodge, Namibia (this camp has since closed)
"Impalila Island Lodge review"
1 night
Arrived
25 Aug 2008
"We only stayed one night in Impalila. The location of the lodge, setup with the baobab and rooms are amazing, very quiet and intimate.
We did a boat evening cruise to Chobe which was very nice - even so it's quite far to get there so we spend less time with the animals compared to a classic 4x4 safari. However we had great sightings of elephants in the water from the boat.
We did a very original walking "safari" to see a very old baobab which was refreshing. The standard of guiding was OK but not as high as other lodges, in particular we found our guide not as enthusiastic as we've seen elsewhere."

Chitabe Camp
"Chitabe Camp review"
3 nights
Arrived
26 Aug 2008
"Our stay in Chitabe was excellent. The camp is located in a very nice location with elephants regularly wandering between tents. Our guide (Andy) was brilliant and all the staff very kind and helpful.
The sighting was very good, including several leopards, giraffes, elephants, hippos, lions, cheetah, ... One of our best camps in Botswana for sightings and friendlyness. We also enjoyed a "night out", sleeping in a hide - even more remote in the middle of the bush - which was a very unique experience.
The camp is old but nicely setup with a good common area and a particularly nice outdoor shower opening on the bush (we had tent n 8, the last one)."

Lebala Camp
"Lebala Camp review"
3 nights
Arrived
29 Aug 2008
"Lebala camp recently refurbished their accommodation, it's now extremely large wood chalets, with bath and a stunning double outdoor shower. The staff was very helpful and there was a real "family" feel in the common area and during dinner and breaks.
The guide and trackers were highly motivated and skilled to find animals / birds - also very active night drives in the concessions. We may have seen "less" game than in other reserve like Chitabe (their wild dogs packs were far at the time) but we had very good tracking experience and the dry environment is quite interesting. We did have the chance to see a Pangolin though !
One slightly minor note, their cars have 2 rows of 3 seats so they tend to put 6 guests in each which when you are in the middle seat is not as good for photography as being on the side (private car option is available but expensive)."

Xakanaxa

"This camp in the Moremi reserve is in a stunning location and the best decorated / designed camp we went to in Botswana. The owners did put a lot of effort in the decoration and setup - really amazing. However the camp accept more guests than the other camps we have been to so with all the turnover there is less of a community/family feeling.
We did mainly game drive in the Moremi reserve, we 've seen a lot and the environment is stunning with great colors, forest, water and plains. We had the chance to follow a price of lions with cubs following bufallos and two wild dog sighting (including a kill).
We found that the standard of guiding is not as good as in Chitabe or Kwando Lebala (our guide was not enthousiastic or willing to spend time just watching a scene) and there are more vehicles in the reserve which is expected as it's not private. We also did a very nice and refreshing afternoon boat trip where we've seen lot's of birds very close, but we would have liked to have more Mokoro possibilities (only 10mins of Mokoro during the afternoon)."

Food was reasonable priced - usually evening buffets and the location great - calm on the river view."
