Wolwedans Desert Lodge

Kulala Desert Lodge
"Kulala Desert Lodge review"
The camp's 'back door' into the National Park really helps you to get quickly to the amazing landscape of Sossusvlei and it also allows easy access to the hot air balloon experience which was one of the highlights of our trip."

Ballooning in the Namib Desert
"What a breeze"
24 Sep 2014 • Morning excursion
Landing the balloon back on its trailer was brilliant showmanship but, followed by the sabraged "champagne" breakfast, it just perfectly completed the experience.
Doro Nawas
"Doro Nawas review"
There was a very friendly welcome from the manager {Agnes} and her assistant {Maureen} but the ambiance is perhaps less slick / more homely than in the other camps. Our room safe did not work and the information in the room about timings and activities proved to be out of date but the staff were helpful {especially Freesas who helped with the tyre replacement}."
Desert Rhino Camp
"Desrt Rhino Camp review"
We stayed three nights so had two separate rhino excursions. Depending on where the rhino are browsing, the walk in to see them can be over tricky terrain but that only added to the excitement and the trackers from Save the Rhino Trust provided plenty of specialist information to add to that of our excellent and enthusiastic guide Johann."
Anderssons Camp, Namibia (this camp has since closed)
"Anderssons Camp review"
The game viewing, both in Etosha and on the Ongava Reserve, was excellent though we have never been driven as fast on safari before mainly because we had to get to the far end of Ongava where the best game seemed to be concentrated. And the roads in Etosha itself were both busier and more poorly maintained than the public roads we had travelled on - yet the entrance fee is a trivial amount {some scope for a tourist road tax perhaps?}"

Mushara Bush Camp
"Mushara Bush Camp review"
We only stayed one night and the camp was full which is perhaps why service at dinner was a bit slow but the quality of the food and enthusiastic staff singing and dancing made it well worth the wait."
Mundulea Reserve
"Mundulea Reserve review"
After a lot of driving and viewing big game earlier in our trip, it was good to get more walking and to focus on the smaller birds, animals, plant life and landscape in a setting which is changing so significantly as part of Bruno's 're-wilding' process.
The camp itself is fun - with leadwood {baboon proof} furniture and an incredible array of recycled equipment in the open kitchen and boma. The lively and educational conversations over dinner and around the fire were as good as the walks and helped make the stay memorable."
Etango Ranch Guest Farm
"Etango Ranch Guest Farm review"
The evening meal included an excellent steak - and we had had plenty of good meat earlier in the trip to compare it with - which was only marginally let down by an angel delight sweet."
Coast and Sandwich Harbour
"Turnstone to Sanwich"
25 Sep 2015 • All-day excursion
It was cool and windy when we were there which made the our dune climbing much more interesting than it might have been but the views were well worth the effort. Bruno's driving, whether to avoid the quicksands or to traverse the dunes, was impressive - as was the hearty lunch.
Abner proved to be a charming and helpful guide"
