"This was our third trip to the Lower Zambezi, and Potato Bush Camp quickly became our new favorite spot. It is beautifully situated, with expansive river views, and its compact size, relatively flat terrain, and wooden walkways made it easy for us old folks to get around. The ambience is unpretentious and relaxed; the accommodations spacious and well appointed; and the opportunity for communal dining a welcome feature. The animal sightings were excellent, including wild dog, leopard, and an array of nocturnal creatures.

Since we stayed five nights, we were pleased by the variety in our daily schedules and the flexibility of having a private vehicle and designated guide. In the latter regard, we could not have wished for a better companion than the outstanding Alex Chifuchi, whose expertise, enthusiasm, easy conversation, and keen insights made the time we spent with him as enriching as it was enjoyable. We were impressed too by the subtle attention Alex, along with his colleagues, paid to safety during water activities and game drives.

We also want to commend the camp manager, Faith Chiwende, for running a highly professional operation with charm, conviviality, and a gift for fostering the same qualities throughout her staff. We were especially grateful for her calm and efficient handling of a potential medical emergency that required us to leave the camp a day earlier than planned. Faith met this unfortunate challenge with speed, aplomb, and unfailing good nature, enabling us to make the most of our abbreviated stay."
