Beautiful Botswana
Botswana between 14 May 2014 and 27 May 2014
There are not enough superlatives to describe our visit!! Although Botswana is an expensive destination, the people and the experience are worth every penny.
Our itinerary, which Megan helped us put together, was excellent and was even commented on by one of the guides as a great diversity of camps and scenery.
We would highly recommend Expert Africa.

Chitabe Camp
"cool chitabe!"

Little Kwara (Not currently featured by Expert Africa)
"the lion of little Kwara"
a smaller camp so everybody got to know one another and all the guides ate with us, which led to some great conversations.
Our guide (P.J.) and tracker (Mike) were a great team, and we had some great sightings with them e.g.lionesses and cubs with a kill, mating lions, and a pair of very lazy cheetahs!
They made a lovely cake for Janet's birthday and gave her a card and a hand made paper album - and also sang happy birthday! Very special!"

Jacana Camp
"Peaceful oasis at Jacana"
The managers Angie and William were very friendly and welcoming and a special mention for Kathy, who looked after our room. She came specially to point out a baby crocodile floating on a small log just outside our room which we would never have spotted on our own.
It was a quiet interlude in a busy schedule, although Janet was nearly joined in the outside shower by a large elephant quietly passing by! Janet also received another birthday cake with yet more candles and singing! A memorable day!"

Lagoon Camp
"Lion cubs at lagoon"
The one downside was our guide Paul. Although he was very nice we found it quite distracting and sometimes annoying that he took as many, if not more photographs than the guests; to the extent that he sometimes blocked our view. Our tracker ( we think P.D.) was great.
We found Lagoon quite busy but the staff were all very friendly and helpful and overall we had a good time."
somewhat overwhelmed by the concentration of American guests. In fact we were the only non Americans!
The camp was 45 minutes from the air strip which made it tiring after a 24 hour trip.
Hot water bottles in bed and on early morning safaris were very welcome. Glad that we included fleece jackets, woolly hats and gloves in our luggage!"
