Wonderful wildlife but exhausting
Zambia between 19 Sep 2014 and 5 Oct 2014
"Journey from Heathrow to Lower Zambezi took too long - three flights in one go is too many - and we arrived exhausted which did affect our first few days.
Once we had recovered we had a great trip."

"Excellent guides.
Andrew was extremely knowledgeable and a great ambassador for Zambian wildlife. He was very enthusiastic and worked hard to give us a very enjoyable and rewarding visit."

"Owners Carol and John have a real hands on approach and expect a high standard from their staff. They get it. Service was excellent and with a friendly, relaxed and personal approach. Food was very good and rooms were well equipped. No electricity means no fans and in temperatures of 35 degrees sleeping was occasionally a problem. The wet sarongs were an essential piece of equipment!
Our guide, Lloyd was excellent - quiet and unassuming but very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His knowledge of animal behaviour resulted in lots of wonderful sightings.
The position of the lodge outside the park meant that each trip began with a 15 minute drive to the gate at the beginning and end of each game drive and this becomes a bit repetitive after a while."

"The Tree House where we stayed was fantastic. Facilities were excellent and so cleverly designed to provide amazing views - even from the loo!
This room comes with a personal valet which is not something we would usually choose to have (seems far too decadent!) but was wonderful. Nyambe made sure our stay there was a delight and one we will not forget. He helped arrange visits for us, brought drinks to our room, dealt with our laundry and each evening served us dinner on our own private deck overlooking the Zambezi. Who would want to eat anywhere else?!
The activity managers were excellent at arranging the things we wanted to do - from swimming in Devil's Pool to helping us cross into Zimbabwe to see the falls from there. (Don't expect to have good views of the Falls in October from the Zambian side). It was an excellent place to stay at the end of a busy holiday - active but more relaxing and not as frantic as being on safari. It would also be an excellent place to begin a trip to Zambia and would be perfect for honeymooners."

Beds very comfortable and facilities excellent. Food was excellent. Camp activities were varied and very well organised. It was easy to choose an activity to suit and the guides were very helpful at tailoring activities, e.g. when one of us wanted to go birdwatching."
