My Aug 2013 trip
Tanzania and 1 other country between 10 Aug 2013 and 21 Aug 2013
"In the words of my 10 year old son "the trip was epic!"
The safari was definitely the highlight of the whole trip - an absolutely amazing experience, where we could see the animals very close up. The Selous Park was great - not as busy as many other safari parks. I would definitely recommend the Impala Camp to any other travellers.
Zanzibar Island was a good relaxing time after the early mornings during the safari. Pongwe Beach is a beautiful hotel with delicious food, although the service could be improved a little.
I was impressed how Expert Africa were pro-active in rebooking our flights after the Nairobi Airport fire. Excellent service from your team on this!"

"The family room was great although my husband would have preferred to have a chair or two in the bedroom. Also - a few more hooks or towel rails in the bathroom/rooms would be useful. The balcony/veranda outside the family room is beautiful, and a great place to spend a few hours away from the midday sun.
The food was delicious, but the breakfast service was a bit erratic - on some days it was very slow. Also, we did feel that the staff weren't as well trained as at the Impala Camp. It could be useful for some of the Hotel Managers to be out in the restaurant/bar area a bit more (similar to Impala Camp), so that they are more aware of the service that is happening.
Nice to have the swimming pool, beach games and snorkelling."

It was wonderful to have a guide (Gerard) allocated to our family of 4 for the whole stay at the camp. This meant that we could go and see the animals that we wanted to, at the hours that fitted us as a family. He explained everything very well at a level of detail our children could understand.
All of the staff at the camp were extremely well trained, and attentive to our needs throughout the whole stay, without being intrusive. Nice little touches such as the complimentary laundry service, and drinking water topped up in the rooms.
Nice to have the pre-dinner campfire drinks and the opportunity to talk with other people also on safari, and the camp staff"
