Ruaha-a Dream come true
Tanzania between 15 Nov 2012 and 30 Nov 2012
"A superb safari which expert africa helped put together at short notice with several changes (Thankyou Angela), which enabled us to return to Tanzania with some intrepidation (could it still be as good ?). It was even better and whilst there are some issues in the modern world of conservation, we were thrilled with our experiences and the enthruing discussions around the fireplace in the evenings.
The most lions we have seen in 20 years of visiting Africa and these parks are a great place to see them.

"All staff were friendly and attentive. They seemed particularly interested in the wildlife that had been seen. We enjoyed a wonderful lingering view of a male and 2 female lions leisurely feeding on a new giraffe kill; which one of our guides , Ragabu, expertly spotted from a distance via vultures, and so we were lucky to be the first vehicle to view this spectacle.
The guides worked extremely hard to look for a leopard and we spent alot of time waiting for a leopard to return to her kill which although not successful on this occasion was fantastic and a benefit from being allocated our own vehicle, and we appreciate that there is often a lot of luck in viewing this amazing animal (luck was reserved for later during the trip).
We were surprised not to see very many elephants, and we felt it was a bit concerning to see one lone very small elephant hiding in scrub under a tree with no adult in sight. We got the impression that there are not as many elephants in Selous as perhaps a few years ago.
When leaving we congratulated the manager on the excellent service from all their staff."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our safari, it is the best safari that we have ever had.
The guiding and camp were excellent, get in here before it changes. We felt at one with the park, never chasing sitings but just gently watching events unfold (Thank you Marc) Numerous lingering sightings of elephant families including several very young calfs, following a family of lions over 6 days and watching the cubs play and adults drink, another sighting of the famous 'Grumpy', 'Brother', and pride of 17 lions on an enormous giraffe kill, leisurely cheetah sightings, 2 excellent leopard sightings (one climbing down a tree, another for over half an hour when the young female came so close to the vehicle we almost felt that we could have touched her - in theory!). My husband still has not sorted his favourite picture of her during this sighting.
Food, staff, and facilities were excellent. The vehicle broke down late at night, but this was quickly dealt with."

Chole Mjini Lodge
"Relaxing stay with Whaleshark swim"
3 nights
Arrived

"After daily early starts on safari in hot temperatures, we were ready for a rest! It took a day to relax into Chole, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was a treat to enjoy slightly cooler temperatures! The staff were delightful, very friendly and eager to chat but they also respected our privacy. The food was very good, portions were balanced and just right for all the excursions.
We enjoyed the company of all, including 2 teachers who were working with babies and families. 'Batman' was excellent, very talented in numerous areas, and he worked so hard to find whale sharks. I swam with an 8 m whale shark with him and although I am not a strong swimmer, I felt very safe in the water with him. My husband and I both wish him well in the future he deserves to do well! The whale shark experience is one of the most memorable experiences that I have been lucky to have. Also visited an out of season turtle hatching (watch your footware as it involves a walk over sharp rocks)"

Also pleased that when we passed them later in the week from another camp they acknowledged us and exchanged words (with nothing to gain from doing so and with new clients onboard their vehicle). Second favourite camp of the holiday"
