"Great experience! Lovely people and places.
Great advice and help from Anna who has tons of experience in Zambia and was well known in all the camps!
It was hotter than expected - most places just below 40C - which was a bit too much at times. No mozzies but a reasonable number of Tsetse flies - the park authorities should really try and do something about this.
Overall - wonderful, especially Mchenja
Suggestions for improvement:
No! Carry on the good service!"

"An independent lodge just the other side of the river from the park. Great to drive through the river and reach the park in less than 5mins. Very nice set up with beautiful chalets looking onto the river. Again 2 nights here seemed about right.
James, the guide, was very good and knowledgeable and made it a very enjoyable experience. The lodge is very smart and we were well looked after although it lacked a little of the atmosphere of the other places we stayed."

Mchenja Bushcamp

"Well for me this was about as close as you can get to paradise on earth. Lovely tents with nice outside area for shower and loo - although a bit scary in the middle of the night! Richard and Susie were excellent hosts - really do their job well. Our guide was Lawrence (from Kapani) and was excellent as well.
We are into birds and cats and Lawrence could imitate most bird sounds and quite often would have 'conversations' with them as we went along. Food was outstanding given the remoteness of the camp.
It was very fitting that the last animal we saw just before we got back to camp at night was a leopard stalking an impala. It rounded off a beautiful experience."

Toka Leya Camp
"Toka Leya Camp review"
2 nights

"Beautiful new camp in lovely setting by the Zambesi. Very helpful guides and staff although they still seem to be experiencing minor teething problems.
The chalets are beautiful but are a triumph of form over function. The back of the chalets need much more light, the bedside tables are outside the mosquito nets and it has an overly complicated air-conditioning unit with no instructions.
However, a great place to stay when compared with the normal Livingstone hotels with beautiful big beds, geat views and privacy.
The trips down the Zambesi were a highlight"

Spotted 2 leopards on the first day so can't be bad! One beautiful male in daylight just resting in a sausage tree.
The food was simply excellent.
As someone mentioned earlier, the park can get a little crowded at night in this area but nothing compared with most other countries offering safaris. We felt this was 'real' Africa."
