Our holiday of a lifetime in July 2012
Zambia between 13 Jul 2012 and 28 Jul 2012
I would highly recommend going to see the Victoria Falls, taking the longer helicopter ride (30 minutes) over it as you then fly down the gorges which is very exciting and helps you understand the formation of the landscape. The buffet breakfast at the Royal Livingston Hotel is also an experience not to be missed.
All the Zambians we met were so genuinely friendly we can not wait to return."

Luangwa River Camp
"Fantastic experiences at Luangwa River Camp"

Tafika
"Tremendous Tafika"
We also went on two walking safaris with Brian which were brilliant, although I was a little disconcerted to discover we would be better in the river with crocodiles and hippos rather than facing an angry elephant!
John and Carol and their team were very welcoming hosts and we can not thank them enough for everything."

"Happy celebrations on the Islands of Siankaba"
Everybody enjoyed the sundowners on Hippo Island and fishing although we were not very successful at actually catching anything! The canoe trips were much enjoyed and even the walk round the island was interesting. It was lovely sitting round the fire in the evenings. Thank you to all the staff at Siankaba for making our stay so memorable."

Whilst at the camp we went on a tour of a local village and school which was very moving and educational, particularly for our fourteen year old who is now trying to arrange for some books to be sent to them. We felt very humbled by this experience and the hospitality shown by Constantine and his family was enjoyed and appreciated.
The safari vehicles were very comfortable and our most memorable viewing was being underneath a leopard eating an impala up a tree, being circled by two hyenas and two younger leopards all hoping for some leftovers.
The only useful tip I wish I had known was to have my hat and suncream available on arrival at the airport for the drive to the camp."
