"We really enjoyed our stay here, where the staff were friendly and attentive.

The hotel has a colonial atmosphere, and the public rooms are full of interesting pictures from that era. The bedroom was enormous, with a separate spacious sitting area and the most enormous bathroom, with a huge walk-in shower. All beautifully clean and well maintained.

The gardens were pretty and had wonderful views of the Falls. Resident warthogs and many monkeys provided amusement. We did not eat in the main restaurant, but at Jungle Junction, a more informal restaurant a short walk through the grounds. Breakfast was also served there. We didn't use the outdoor pool, but it looked lovely and well maintained.

We were able to walk to the Falls easily from there and also into the town. Paying by credit card was the norm, and easy.

We would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers."

"Muchenje is a beautiful lodge set high on an escarpment with stunning views over the Chobe riverfront below.

It is very well run by Kiddy who is friendly and welcoming, always present and running a very efficient lodge. The staff were delightful and seemed genuinely pleased to welcome one back each time we went out on a drive. Our guide, KB was incredibly knowledgable as well as an amusing companion and a good driver. It was freezing on the early morning and evening drives and the lodge provided ponchos, although not hot water bottles.

The rooms were beautifully clean, well decorated and very attractive with every facility one could want, with large bathrooms. There was good electric power and we were able to charge batteries and phones as well as using hairdryers. A full clothes washing facility was available. There was a small but pretty pool and viewing decks at various levels overlooking the river, set in the attractive gardens.

During the hours of darkness we were guided to and from our lodge from the dining room. The food was excellent and the large dining tables where everyone ate together, with the guides and Kiddy sitting with us, led to an informal, fun and very friendly atmosphere. The Muchenje Choir (made up of the staff) singing for us before dinner one night was a particular highlight and illustrated how well the staff get on together and how happy they appear to be, working in this lovely lodge."

"This was a real highlight of our visit to Botswana. Visiting Savuti and Moremi, Andrew runs a very professional mobile safari, with his team of 6. The camps were incredibly well run, with excellent food, all prepared on an open fire - how do they produce bread.cakes and pies? At every meal we were provided with a freshly laundered, ironed cloth napkin!

The tents were of a good size, with an attached ‘ensuite’ bathroom with a long-drop toilet and hot water provided each day for showers from a hanging bag, controlled by a tap. Hot water for washing was also provided every morning and each time we returned to camp. There were shelves to place clothes and other items on, bedside tables, and battery operated lamps. Andrew’s team also offered a laundry service, but not including underwear. Everything came back beautifully ironed, using a hot-coal filled iron!

There was no power in the camp, but cameras, phones and batteries could easily be charged via the inverter in Andrews Landcruiser while driving each day. Andrew’s knowledge was extraordinary as was his eye-sight and his intimate knowledge of the area enabled him to track the animals we were hoping to see. Again it was freezing on the early morning and night drives, but Andrew provided very good fleece-lined ponchos and hot water bottles.

Sitting round the campfire before dinner each evening enjoying a glass of wine or a gin was a wonderful way to end each day and Andrew was an interesting, relaxed and friendly host. The camps also had a central gazebo where there was a bar, coffee and tea, comfortable seating with games and a good selection of reference books, as well as an easel with ever-changing maps of the area."

"This is another well-run camp with good facilities.

There is a large dining area where one eats in the evenings, usually in ones group and guide, and breakfast is served around a large camp fire nearby. The rooms were beautifully decorated, very large with both an indoor huge shower room and an outdoor shower, and these along with the main areas, all overlook an enormous waterhole. We saw a herd of waterbucks there, but there was little water in it to attract other game. Some of the rooms were a considerable walk along a sandy path, from the main dining area, which would have been a challenge for those with walking issues.

Again ponchos and hot water bottles were provided for the night drives, which were definitely needed! Our guide was knowledgable and friendly and all the staff were lovely and gave the impression they were delighted to see us each time we returned.

A highlight was being taken to spend time at the den of a pack of wild dogs, with their pups. We then saw them hunting a Steenbuck."
