"Welcome was lovely - friendly and genuine. Staff were unfailingly helpful, smiley and chatty. Loved the dogs and the donkey as we are animal people but would understand if others not so keen. Trips organised for us were perfect - the team asked what we wanted to do and picked up very accurately on the style we liked - for instance, when we asked to go on a boat they accurately assessed that we wanted a local, low key experience rather than going out with a big group in a more commercial style. Good choice of excellent food and wines.

Lovely surprise of fizz and cake to celebrate my birthday the day we arrived. Room very comfortable and spacious. Lighting maybe a bit dark for chillling with a good book - but not to the point of being a big problem. Lovely big bathroom - water didn't drain very well in wet room area, so bathroom flooded quite easily but once we got the hang of it, it didn't matter.

Great massage and pedicure. Located in quiet part of Zanzibar, so not lots to do for those who want lots of entertainment but absolutely perfect for us. Overall, we couldn't fault the place and have already been recommending it to friends."

"Feel that I would use a 'very' good rating if available. Managers, Sarah and Phil were friendly and helpful throughout. Excellent, knowledgeable guiding. Excellent tents - well spread out, comfortable bed, hot shower.

Really liked having the option each evening how we would like to spend the following day. Boat trips especially were fabulous. Food ok but not fantastic. Breakfasts plentiful and good but would not have chosen a hot lunch each day in temperatures of over 30c. Dinner always soup and then a fairly unexciting main course. Fully appreciate that one cannot expect a gourmet experience in the middle of the bush but felt there was a little room for improvement. Loved the fresh juices though.

Saw lots of game, especially elephants and a great variety of bird life. Full day safari including visit to the hot springs was wonderful. Amazing to have elephants, baboons, impala wandering around the camp and quite an experience to lie in bed listening to hyena very close by!"

"Alex runs the camp so well that it is hard to fault any aspect. Her welcome is genuine and makes you feel very much at ease from the moment you arrive. Her surprise of cake and champagne for my birthday was much appreciated as was the opportunity for Richard and I go out for a bush breakfast and whole day safari on our own. Tents comfortable and well spread out.

Game viewing wonderful, guides and drivers knowledgeable and experienced. Saw a cheetah kill and two leopards along with lots of other game. Sitting round the camp fire for sundowners followed by dinner under the stars each evening was magical.

Food excellent - markedly better than Lake Manze. Overall, I cannot rate this place highly enough."

"Efficient, friendly, very clean, good food. Well equipped room if a little 'corporate' in feel but just what we needed for a overnight before travelling back to the UK.

Not too far from airport which was good as we were leaving early in the morning."
