Amazing trip !
Zambia between 17 Oct 2011 and 27 Oct 2011
"We had a wonderful trip to Zambia. The wildlife was amazing and we were glad to have the recommendation of 2 Shenton camps plus Mondoro as they complemented each other very well.
Everything went to plan and we will certainly choose Expert Africa again.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
Some slightly more detailed advice on photography would be useful. For example on the Shenton web site (not Expert Africa) the emphasis is on top of the range cameras with big lenses. Yes some people have this but they are very expensive. We purchased a 55-300mm telephoto lens which proved adequate for all but the photographing of birds as we got pretty close to most animals. Maybe you could give a counterbalance to the Shenton information to ease the mind of the everyday photographer."

Kaingo Camp
"A perfect combination with Mwamba Bushcamp"

"We found this camp to be a superb complement to our stay at Mwamba. We walked between the two which we would highly recommend.
The location by the river gives a very different perspective on the area. The hippo, elephant and carmine bee-eater hides were a wonderful opportunity to take good photographs.
Guiding was very good - as in the sister camp - and again we got very close to the animals. So much so that we had elephants joining us for breakfast one morning !
The private deck is a great place to have a quiet lunch overlooking the river Luangua and watch the world go by.
We hope to come back one day !"

Old Mondoro Bushcamp
"A great location by the Zambesi"
4 nights
Arrived

"We loved the situation of this camp with its view over the river and the surrounding contryside. The quality of the accommodation is also very good indeed.
We woke up to two resident buffalo outside our deck and at lunchtime we were visited by elephants coming to inspect us !
The 'siesta' time in the middle of the day is a great opportunity to watch the wildlife and the sounds of animals in the river and the surrounding bush were unforgettable.
The canoe trip and river cruise are something different and we highly recommend as an alternative activity to viewing game as we found the variety of wildlife and the opportunity to take good photographs was not quite as good as South Luangua.
The service was second to none with restaurant quality meals by a superb Zambian chef !"

The guiding by Meyam was excellent and in his quiet way he demonstrated his extensive knowledge of wildlife and their habitats.
We were amazed at how close we got to the animals and they in turn seemed relaxed at having people nearby.
We were lucky enough to see the Mwamba pride of lions (20 in all) take down a large buffalo - a sight never to be forgotten !
The chalets were very comfortable and their design works well in the hot weather.
Service was very attentive and we were pleasantly surprised at how such good food can be created from a simple kitchen.
We will look back with fond memories of this beautiful location !"
