My Aug 2011 trip
Zimbabwe between 15 Aug 2011 and 25 Aug 2011
"Had a wonderful time, very well organised trip & felt very safe in Zimbabwe.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
The information on the website about recommended ages for children initially put me off booking as most of the camps recommended children age 16 & over.
For Vundu, our kids age 10 & 12 had a great time & we had game drives throughout most of the day so they had no time to get bored."

"Very comfortable friendly hotel with good food. Our 2 rooms were separated by a connecting door which was perfect for a family & we had a small patio which looked out over lawns populated with warthog & baboons.
The spray from the Falls was just visible in the distance & the walk to the Falls was 10-15 minutes. There was a helpful receptionist available to book trips & my daughter did a zipwire over the Zambezi & a gorge swing which she loved.
We visited the Victoria Falls game park & used a guide recommended by our guide in Vundu called Charles. He couldn't take us himself as we booked at short notice but we went on a night drive with one of his team which was excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable."

There was a pan in front of the accommodation & we often saw elephants, warthogs & buffalo there. We had lovely food including home made cakes for afternoon tea. We ate together with the other guests & guides in the evening & met some interesting people.
You were right about the Zimbabwe-trained guides - we had an amazing guide called Andy who was great fun but also had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the animals he showed us. He tracked a lion on day one & we felt so safe with him that we went for a canoe trip on the second day which we had vowed not to do for fear of hippo attack.
He knew the area very well so was able to take us to the hotspots for animal viewing & we had a nice mixture of driving in the jeep & walking. It was quite cold in the early mornings in August but the jeep was equipped with blankets so we were kept warm. Our 2 girls age 10 & 12 really enjoyed it. The camp was a few feet from the Zambezi river which was beautiful."
