"My Oct 2013 trip"
I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 5 Oct 2013 and 18 Oct 2013
"This was a great trip. We enjoyed it all. Although there was some negative observations about Impala we nevertheless enjoyed it . I do not think we would again travel to east Africa as late in the year as on this occasion. It was extremely hot and certainly in the Selous the rains came early. Rains were also expected in the Ruaha the day we left, again early for that region. Weather predictions as unstable in this region now as they are in the rest of the world.
Our itinerary was perfect and everything went like clockwork.
I believe this is our third African trip with you. Your company is very reliable with knowledgeable advisors offering trips that are competitively priced. We would not hesitate to travel with you to Africa a fourth time." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 8 on a Tanzania safari

"Tanzania 2013"
I visited Tanzania between 5 Oct 2013 and 20 Oct 2013
"We had a great time. Adding to the camp feedback - the trip through Dubai worked well for us/ I think it could be looked into as a possible route. Emirates were an excellent service.
The airport at Dar is a little confusing - it may be worth telling people they have a a 'pre-check'security that isn't clear if you can take your water through. Once through, there is nothing much until you get past emigration! Take a good book. After emigration most shops will take dollars.
Great trip - all worked as planned. Moments we will never forget. I think that's the point :)" Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 13 on a Tanzania safari

"Birthday trip"
I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 3 Oct 2013 and 17 Oct 2013
"The whole trip was everything and more than we hoped for to make our sixtieth birthday holiday memorable.
The &Beyond lodges and staff were outstanding, Rovos rail a touch of 1930's luxury and Cape Town a great city break.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
You may want to update at your yellow fever guidance in the literature you send out. US medics we spoke to during the trip had looked into it and found that Tanzania no longer had any yellow fever risk. Since they needed some sort of certificate, they had an exemption certificate. The side effects of the YF vaccination made Lawrence ill for about a week, necessitating time off work and in retrospect, with a little more information, we may have decided not to have this vaccination.
I know that Tanzania still require tourists to be vaccinated but the wheels of government move slowly and you are in a position to move somewhat faster and provide a fuller picture." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 6 on a Tanzania safari

"A wonderful trip to Selous, Ruaha & Zanzibar"
I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 27 Sep 2013 and 10 Oct 2013
"Fantastic, a truly wonderful trip. We definitely caught the "Africa bug"!
Everything went very smoothly and it was great to find that all of our connections worked like clockwork.

"Wonderful Safari"
I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 27 Sep 2013 and 11 Oct 2013
"The Safari was fantastic and our guide, Kevin Mlay, was excellent and really knowledgeable. He knew where to go to give us the best chance of seeing the animals and nothing was too much trouble for him.
When we arrived in Tanzania, the drive from Kilimanjaro to our first village walk was about four hours, which was far too long after a night flight. It might have been better to fly to Arusha rather than Kilimanjaro.
It was just a short drive to Zanzibar airport where were it was the worst part of the holiday. The porters were only interested in grabbing your money. A major, major problem at the end of the holiday was to find that there was a departure tax of ÂŁ80 to pay! We were not advised of this and had not budgeted for it at all. It was fortunate we had the money put by for our taxi fare from Heathrow to home which we used. That interfered with paying the taxi drive once we got home. Surely Expert Africa must know about this tax but there was no mention of it in any of the information we were given. It really spoilt the end of the holiday." "My Sep 2013 trip to Selous /Ruaha"
I visited Tanzania between 24 Sep 2013 and 4 Oct 2013
"We flew via Nairobi where the in-transit facilities on the outward flight were very poor. However, on the return journey we were taken to much better facilities for the time spent in in-transit at the airport. We flew by Kenya Airways which were very good.
They were on-time and the facilities and service on the planes were good. However, the check-in desk at Dar-es-Salaam airport only opened two and a half hours before the flight so we had a couple of hours sitting in a not very nice area before the desks opened. However, after checking in and going through passport control you are then in a very modern area.
However, besides the downside of long-haul travel, our time within Tanzania was wonderful. All the arrangements went smoothly, and the camps and wildlife lived up to expectation. We are extremely happy with our choice of camps and all our experiences.
