The meandering Rufiji River lies at the heart of Nyerere National Park

It forms a complex network of channels, lakes and swamps.

It is a great place for game viewing...

...as well as admiring the beautiful scenery.

Wild dogs can be spotted...

...and also herds of elephant.

Nyerere National Park also has an extraordinary birdlife...

...with over 440 species.

...and elephants as they come down to the river.

Nyerere National Park is worth a visit.

"My October 2014 trip to Selous & Ruaha"

I visited Tanzania between 1 Oct 2014 and 17 Oct 2014
"Our safari of 9 nights in Selous and 6 nights in Ruaha was a great experience from the initial contact with Expert Africa through to the safari itself! All transfers and connections worked well, and we enjoyed staying at Selous Impala Camp, Lake Manze and Mdonya Old River Camp equally as much even though they varied quite considerably with their own individuality.

We have been on many safaris over the years, both organized and independently, and this one has met all our expectations. It was good to be in a more remote area of Tanzania with a real feeling of being right in the bush with elephants brushing past your tent in the daytime and lions calling from right behind the tent a night!!

It was great to be able to maximize the amount of game viewing time, particularly at Mdonya Old River camp where there was the opportunity to go on full day game drives.

Staff in all of the camps were friendly and helpful, and we had excellent guides and drivers that contributed greatly to our safari experience.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Although we have been on many safaris over the years, this was our first time using Expert Africa. We were impressed by the service and prompt responses to the questions we had.

Thank you to James for suggestions to our initial plan of where to stay, and length of stay, and so making it a better safari experience for us." Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 15 on a Tanzania safari

"Loved every minute!"

I visited Tanzania between 29 Sep 2014 and 6 Oct 2014
"We started out at the White Sands Villas and Spa in Paje beach on Zanzibar which is beyond beautiful. It just opened in 2014 and the grounds are spectacular and the rooms are really small compounds with two buildings, a private pool and private garden that opens on to the beach. It was the perfect place to relax and get used to the time zone change.

Then off to the Selous game reserve for a week of safari. The reserve is amazing and had many different landscapes which made you feel like you were exploring a number of different reserves, rather than just one.

All our lodges were great and the whole trip went smoothly and according to plan. We would definitely visit here again!" Read full review: 7 nights in Africa; 7 on a Tanzania safari

"My Sep 2014 trip"

I visited Tanzania and 2 other countries between 23 Sep 2014 and 7 Oct 2014
"Until our flights home, we had a magnificent holiday and would recommend all the places. We have one minor and one major complaint about the trip ( I should however say at this stage that Ellie was hugely helpful from the beginning to the actual holiday.

Minor:- having spent ÂŁ15k on the holiday, I felt that, unlike other travel agents we have dealt with, the lack of a personal call on our return and the failure to send us this form until I requested it was not very good PR for Expert Africa.

Major:- on our return, our flight itinerary expected us to sit for five hours at Dar airport ( outside on the roadside on uncomfortable chairs) while we waited for our connecting flight with Kenya Airways to Nairobi. As we were flying business class from Nairobi to London, why were we not on the earlier Kenyan Airways flight so that we could at least wait in a comfortable lounge?

For some reason I had a fever with temperature of 103 and insisted on taking the earlier flight ( they nearly would not let me fly and wanted me to go to the hospital to see a doctor) Because we were flying economy, we had to pay 130 dollars to change flights. On this flight were many of the guests we had met during our holiday that were also on the London BA flight.

As your client it is not up to us to check all the flight times as we have already made it clear that we would want all the most sensible connections. Also, the earlier flights were not new as one guest we had spoken to had booked a long time ago like us and because BA cancelled their Wednesday flights out to a nairobi just before we were going, necessitating a change in flights all round, you could have rechecked then. We do expect to hear from you on this matter as it is not satisfactory and left a bitter taste after such a wonderful holiday up until then." "Tanzanian Safari, 14th Sept - 27th Sept 2014"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 14 Sep 2014 and 27 Sep 2014
"We'd not used Expert Africa before but our experience was excellent and we'd certainly use them should we decide to take another safari.

We had a good conversation initially talking about what we'd done before and wanted to do on this safari - they understood our requirements and put together a great itinerary for us.

Any emails we sent were replied to very quickly.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

As I've indicated we had a very enjoyable experience and can't really suggest any ways to improve your service." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 12 on a Tanzania safari

"Thanks for another great trip"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 10 Sep 2014 and 28 Sep 2014
"We have done so many safaris we have lost count and we thought this trip would just be a fill in. Far from it! There was a lovely balance between the Selous and Ruaha camps and the variety of game was superb.

The variety of activities was less than we hoped as there are no park rangers in the camps (Apart from Kitchaka) to act as guards for walks and no night drives. However in all the camps we had a very personal service and guides who were with you throughout your stay. That and excellent beach relax are two advantages over Zambia.

Thank you James for your excellent choice of camps and for such a smooth running trip. Our appetite is still not satiated, Zambia still has that edge for us and we hope return in the not too distant future." Read full review: 18 nights in Africa; 12 on a Tanzania safari

"This was a wonderful holiday from beginning to end and Expert Africa lived up to its great reputation.

All the accommodation, internal flights and everyone we dealt with was, without fail, excellent and we would not hesitate to use Expert Africa to arrange out trips in the future.

"A fantastic Tanzanian and African experience"

I visited Tanzania between 8 Sep 2014 and 21 Sep 2014
"The trip was a great trip marred at the end by a delayed flight however we only talk about the trip, the logistics, the teams ,the camps, the organisers and not the delay. It is a credit to all concerned that all the links, planes, pick ups etc worked like clockwork. The quality of accommodation, the customer focus and of course the country of Tanzania never ceases to amaze." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 12 on a Tanzania safari
