"A very memorable trip and one I wanted to do for many years.
I was booked on a trip the year the Bradt guide was published and it was cancelled due to lack of interest.

The treks are well organised with the trackers locating the family and I am glad I had taken all my walking kit as my poles were invaluable.
The gorillas just ignored our presence and carried on with their activities.It was humbling and an absolute privilege to be in their presence. The hour went quickly and we managed to see quite a few family members. Overall an amazing and unforgettable experience.
Getting to the gorillas on the first trek was relatively easy. Poret was very helpful.

Excellent memorial museum but very hard to appreciate and take in all the atrocities and the numbers involved.
Impressed that Rwandans are now one people. Cleanest city I have seen with plenty of green spaces and very good infrastructure. Impressive roads.

It was useful getting to know the terrain before the gorilla trekking but I would have found it a bit of a let down if done after the gorillas.
