Our exciting and varied Zim safari
Zimbabwe between 30 Oct 2015 and 11 Nov 2015
"The combination of Mana Pools, Lake Kariba and Hwange gave us a varied and interesting view of Zimbabwe safaris - it felt like 3 different safaris rolled into one! We thoroughly enjoyed the trip which went totally without hiccup from start to finish.
We were a little surprised that the dining arrangements at the Wilderness camps were not automatically communal - indeed the default was separate tables (although Ruckomechi did ask our preference on arrival). But this was quickly changed when the camp managers realised that the majority of their guests welcomed dining with their fellow travellers. We totally understand that some may not wish to share a table but in our experience this is part of the overall safari experience."

"Steve Edwards is a legend and we are privileged to have spent time at Musango, his home. Steve was extremely generous with both his time and hospitality.
Spending time at Lake Kariba, between 2 more conventional safari camps, gave us a very different perspective of the country. We very much enjoyed the variation of time pottering up the lake inlets trying to avoid the hippos and crocodiles; speedboating across the lake to watch large concentrations of game on the far foreshore; tracking lions with Steve (4+ hours); a visit to the camp's local fishing village.
We feel that we arrived as guests but left as friends."

Little Makalolo Camp

"Another well run Wilderness camp - this time our visit was made by our guide, Eustace. We would rate him as among the top 5 guides we have encountered over very many safaris in southern Africa. He is charming, very knowledgeable, has such a keen sense of the bush that he knows before it happens that something wonderful is about to occur (even if we did spot the wild dog before him!).
The game viewing at Hwange was superb."

Our guide, Nyenge, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He went out of his way to ensure all his guests were catered for.
The weather was extreme - a heat wave at the already hottest time of the year peaking at 48.3C! Ceiling fans could have helped but we suspect not a lot. The pool was a very welcome facility, as was the opportunity to undertake game viewing from the river in the afternoons (cooler than conventional game drives)."
