"Mind-blowing, once-in-a-litetime trip!"

Based at Cornerstone Guesthouse on 9 Sep 2017
"This was far and away the most exhilarating, inspirational and beautiful excursion we've ever taken! It was a big expense, because we were the only two passengers, but it was entirely worth it.

The first leg of the flight, over the Namib desert sand sea, was phenomenally beautiful - I must have taken a thousand pictures! To see the huge, snaking apricot coloured dunes, Sossusvlei and the Tsauchab corridor from the air was mind-blowing - and something I'll treasure for ever. And after that, we still had Fish River Canyon, mountains and Sperrgebeit, the diamond coastand Sandwich Harbour to go! The tour of Kolmanskopp was great: another bucket-destination that we were pleased to experience but we felt we were hurried out of fascinating Kolmanskopp to get to lunch and the Luderitz tour, which was far less interesting to us.

Nevertheless, the day overall was outstanding - one we'll never forget!" Read more about this whole safari

"An amazing experience, not to be missed"

Based at Kulala Desert Lodge on 15 Dec 2016
"The Scenic flight over the coast and Namib Desert is a truly unique experience to see the magnificent landscape from above.

Since we couldn't do a balloon safari from Kulala Desert Lodge due to the age of our children (8 and 4 years old), we decided to do the two hours flight from Swakopmund. It was a delight to see the desert including Big Daddy, which we climbed before.

It was equally amazing to see the Skeleton Coast and the many flamingoes and seals." Read more about this whole safari

"Great pilot (Richard)."

Based at Sossus Dune Lodge on 19 Nov 2016
"After a slow start we got going to a great flight across the desert.

People need to understand that if they need to be at place, ready to go at 0545 hrs, it's 0545 and not 0600 hrs.

There are other people depending on you getting your ass at the right place at the right time, with the right gear." Read more about this whole safari

"Fantastic Perspective of the Namib Desert"

Based at Sossus Dune Lodge on 9 Aug 2014
"Wow! Standing next to or on the dunes, gives you a feel for their size, but from the air you see just how large the expanse is, and the magnificence of the ever-changing shapes and patterns!

Our pilot was a bit of a hotshot, maybe fun for some the thrill of racing low over the dunes and causing the oryx to run, but not what we desired as photographers or with respect for the thin gemsbok, already stressed with low food and water. So I have really mixed feelings--the aerial perspective is fantastic, but I also feel flights should be banned if they are disrupting the wildlife, especially if it's intentional.

We felt it was not very professional when the pilot showed up for the flight with his booking girl, supposedly for weight and balance. My husband and I mentioned sitting on the same side, hoping the pilot could accommodate us with favorable light, and no mention was made during our preflight meeting that this would be a problem. As it was, he and the girl got the favorable light, and it was difficult to get his attention as he spent his time talking primarily with her." Read more about this whole safari

"Namibia from the air"

Based at Cornerstone Guesthouse on 6 Oct 2012
"An 'excellent' rating because of the nature we saw, though we didn't feel that we truly had a customized flight but instead that the pilot was keen to follow a standard scenic flight. That's not to say that we didn't fly over what was listed, but that that list was generated by Scenic Flight's routine itinerary more than our submitted interests." Read more about this whole safari

"Weather permitting"

Based at Sam's Giardino on 27 Apr 2008
"We took a 3 hour flight inland and back along the Skeleton Coast. i was a little disappointed as the weather was hazy hence being a keen photographer, made for a frustrating afternoon.

Having said that the scenery was stunning, the pilot comforting (although do not try talking to him over the noise of the engine) and you get to see a lot of the country from a perspective you do not normally get - I would suggest giving it a go." Read more about this whole safari
